so impressed

Like everyone else, I run like hell to catch the train if it's in the station when I arrive. Even if I'm not in a hurry, it's like some personal battle to make the doors before they close. It's almost as if there won't be a train coming in 30 seconds during rush hour. We humans are so strange.

I was riding the B line today and when we stopped at Copley (heading towards BC) there was the usual clamor of activity as people scrambled to enter the train. Somehow my eyes locked on one guy who came flying down the stairs and did the coolest thing. I'm not sure if I can even explain it correctly. He put his right hand on the turnstyle and pulled it towards him ever so slightly. Next, he maneuvered his body between the turnstyle as he pushed it back just a little. In an instant he was on the train. It was the coolest thing I've seen in a while.

What really amazed me was the speed he used to bypass the turnstyle. The whole process took about a second and a half and was so smooth. He had obviously practiced this before. If there were judges around, he would have scored perfect tens all around. He was so graceful!
