Ru Paul LIVE! ...well, almost

Last night Steven and I went to a club to see Ru Paul perform. The club openhed at 9pm and was open until 6am the following morning. We figured Ru would go on stage around midnight, so we napped beforehand and arrived at the club a little after 10pm. The first thing we noticed when we arrived at the club was that there was an odor of vomit in the air (and one bartender for 150 thirsty homos). Once they opened up the rest of the rooms in the club we all spread out and found our spots for the show. The DJ was playing great club music and the people watching was perfect. This was 10:45pm.

We stayed close to the bar so could have a place to put down our drinks. The bartender was a blast and we noticed that a few times when people would order shots, he we would have one too. We saw him have Jägermeister, some purple shot, and Sambucca. Ewww - I bet he has a nasty headache today! We also noticed that every few moments we would smell more puke and poo. It was the stangest thing.

For two more hours we waited for Ru to come onto the stage. Finally we heard someone say that Ru was gong to perform at 2am. Well, since I was the designated driver, we agreed to leave. We're not 85 years old, but I've never been one to stay at a club into the wee hours of the morning. It must be a Cinderella complex or something.

So, the moral of my tale is that if you want to see Ru Paul in concert, make sure to see her someplace that is going to have her perform at a set time. Or bring your PJs if she's at a club becuase it's going to be a looong night!
