For Christmas I received a cocktail-a-day calendar...from my 12-year old neice. But that's another story.
Today's calender page alerted me to the fact that today is Elvis' birthday and to celebrate, we should be drinking Blue Hawaiian drinks. I, for one, am not going to do that, but the drink sounds interesting:
1 ounce light rum
1 ounce blue curacao
1 ounce cream of coconut
2 ounces pineapple juice
pineapple wedge
maraschino cherry
Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Garnish with pineapple and cherry.
