eye doctor: the dreaded puff of air
I went to the eye doctor today for my annual eye checkup. Everything was fine and my prescription actually went down some. Go figure. And I learned about the most comfortable contact lenses I have ever worn. I don't have my supply yet, but the pair the doctor gave me are so comfortable. I feel like I am wearing flannel pajamas in my eyes, but in a good way.
Never have I liked the glaucoma test. You know, the puff of air they shoot into your eye. Hate it. It isn't that it is painful or anything, but my body just won't get used to the fact that they aren't going to poke you in the eye with a needle. It is just some air. Today it took around five tries before he could get an accurate reading. Every time he "puffed", my head would jerk and I would mess up the reading. After a few puffs my eyes were watering. He made me hold onto the table and jam my head into the machine. But he got a reading finally. Watery, red eyes, yes. Glaucoma, no.
I'll report back later on these miraculous contacts. I have only been wearing them for a short time, but I think I am in love. They are called Acuvue OASYS.
