I Tivo'ed the Lifetime movie premiere of The Memory Keeper's Daughter recently. I read the book last year and it was really good. It makes you think about a lot of different things and the book tells a very interesting story.
The movie was good, but they changed the story enough so that I was disappointed. I won't get into specifics, but if you have read the book and see the movie, you will know exactly what I mean. On one hand, the book was pretty complex in how it described the feelings and emotions of the main characters and that is hard to fit into a two hour movie, but those are important parts of the story and the movie glossed over, and in some cases, changed the way the book described these. In my opinion, this made the movie not as effective. Also, they plain changed the ending and while it was good, it didn't complement the book, which I think is an important factor in movies that are adapted from books.
If you saw the movie and read the book, what did you think?
