my parents are retiring

My mother said in an email to me recently, "I only have 3 months left to work". I was shocked. I knew my parents were planning on retiring in September, but it was always a ways off. Now it is in 3 months. Whoa. That is no time at all.

I am really excited (read: jealous) of them. They have worked hard for years and now it is their time to relax and enjoy themselves. They have taken up golf and are planning to buy a Cadillac. Very typical retiree behavior. So, why am I so jealous? Because they can get out of bed whenever they want, and every day is a weekend day. That's why!

They both plan on working part-time jobs, but, still, I have to get out of bed every weekday at 6:30. I don't think they will have to.

My mother has 3 months left to work. According to my calculations I have 360 months until I can retire (realistically, probably more).
