sex and the city and cop trap

Last Friday a group of us went to see the Fort Lauderdale premiere of Sex and the City. We bought our tickets in advance because we figured it would sell out. We were right. All three evening shows were sold out. I won't get into the details of the movie in case you haven't seen it yet, but on a scale of 1 to 10, I give this movie a resounding 10. It is fantastic and didn't disappoint.

After the movie we all planned on meeting at a bar for a cosmo so we could discuss the movie. Steven rode with our friends and I drove our friend, Mike, in our car. I thought I knew where the bar was, but it became quickly apparent that I had no idea where we were going as we drove around in circles, not finding our destination.

At one point we drove into a police DUI stop where they check all cars going by and make you show your license, registration and insurance information. I had all that and they let us go on our way, but not before we noticed a number of people who had been arrested for various reasons (they didn't tell us). Even though we were completely sober, it was scary. I am a very careful driver and haven't been pulled over while I was driving in 10 years. I respect the police and I am grateful for what they do. I know I couldn't take my life into my hands every day.

After getting lost and then the whole police thing, I was ready to call it a night. We called Steven, who had made it to the bar with the others and told him that we would meet them and trade husbands so we could go home. Sometimes it's just not in the cards, right?
