We went to a new bar, Matty's On The Drive. The thing with Fort Lauderdale is that bars come and bars go. I guess it is like that in many cities, but it seems especially evident in Fort Lauderdale. A bar that you like might be open for some time and then for no apparent reason it closes (this isn't always the case, many times you know why it is closing due to the lack of cars in the parking lot).
Matty's On The Drive was pretty cool. First, they don't allow smoking inside, which is fine with me. I hate coming out of a bar stinking like cigarettes (even though I am a smoker). Second, the inside of this place smells new (because it is). We went in the afternoon with a few friends to check it out. It wasn't terribly busy, but there was a certain buzz in the air that was cool. They have pool and music and if you want to smoke you can take your drink outside with you. Oh, and the drink prices are pretty cheap.

Mattys has been open for awhile. Like the bar, hate the loud music. Everyone tends to yell to be heard. Bartenders are nice and they have great drinks, but lower the music guys.
ReplyDeleteHORRIBLE, not only a parking nightmare, but the service sucks bigtime, starting with the management who can CARE LESS if your are not enjoying yourself! There are plenty of other places with an actual touch of class in Wilton Manors.
ReplyDeleteI was there for their anniversary, great new place to visit,the owner Matt is very friendly and down to earth. The drinks are priced right, bar is well done . The staff is sexy, and friendly.
