I recently saw the movie
Julie and Julia. It was cute, if not a little boring if you had read Julia's book,
My Life in France. In the movie, the main character, Julie, attempts to make every recipe from Julia Child's book '
Mastering the Art of French Cooking' in a single year. It is a huge undertaking and an entertaining ride watching her make 500 recipes in 365 days. It got me to thinking...
hmmm, I'd like Steven to do something like this. Not only would it force us to try new things, but would be a neat thing to blog about.
Since it would be boring to try and replicate what
Julie has already done, I thought it might be fun to mix it up a bit (and also not drive Steven to
insanity trying to make complex recipes on work nights). Martha Stewart has a great book out,
Everyday Food: Great Food Fast. As the title suggests, it is full of yummy recipes that don't take (too) long to make. We have had several meals from this book and have yet to be
disappointed. I am working on convincing Steven to take me up on this challenge. It's mostly work for him but it might be an opportunity for me to learn how to cook, too.
