Manatees

I fucking love manatees. This article in the Cape Cod Times reminded me how cute these gentle giants are. It is amazing to me that they swim all the way up to Cape Cod from Miami. That's a long way! And they aren't particularly fast swimmers. I wonder why they don't stay in Florida over the summer. It must just be too hot for them.

One interesting thing I learned about these guys is that they drink fresh water. Who knew?

The Stable Fort Lauderdale

Our favorite bar is The Stable in Fort Lauderdale / Wilton Manors. They call it a leather / levi bar, and I suppose it is, but they have drag night on Monday and a buffet on Friday, none of which have anything to do with leather or levis. It is a little bit country (musically speaking), and the decor is decidedly country, but the people who go there are all over the place. We love it.

It isn't fancy, and is totally smokey, but it's a quiet, comfortable watering hole that we like to frequent. It has only been open for a year and a half, but like it's sister bar, Scandals, it is very popular. For us, this is a blessing and a curse. Some nights there is hardly any parking and not a stool to be found inside, but we are happy to roam about until a seat or two opens up.

Whitney Houston bears all to Oprah

Wow, it is the interview that we have all been waiting for! Whitney Houston and Oprah sit down and Whits gives all the details to Oprah. She even talks about how her and Bobby would smoke joints laced with cocaine. What's that all about? Isn't that crack? I am just not up on my drug-use. Crack is whack.

Today is the second part of the interview and I think Whitney is going to perform. I really like her new album. Some people have said that her voice isn't the same, but I can't tell the difference. Plus, she has been performing for almost 30 years, her voice can't stay the same forever, can it? People used to get all fussed up about Frank Sinatra's voice at the end, saying he had lost it. Give me a break, he had been performing for like 50 years. Cool down, haters.

Kanye West - douchbag of the century?

I don't understand why Kanye West took it upon himself to ruin Taylor Swift's moment at the MTV VMAs. As Katie Perry put it 'it's like you stepped on a kitten'. And she is so right. What a dick head.
