When we first moved into our house we loved that fact that we had really cool floors. We had never seen Terrazzo floors prior to moving to Florida and the idea of a smooth, shiny, low-maintenance floor really made us happy. Things were good for a while, but we noticed that the floors were starting to lose their shine and looked downright dirty. We lived with the floors in this condition for a year or so until finally we had it. Something had to give.

We found a company that would completely grind down the floors, re-finish them, and apply a nice polish to the top. The downside to this was that we had to literally move out of our house for this to work. Yikes. We rented one of those PODS things and packed our entire lives into the small-ish box that was deposited into our driveway. Once the house was cleaned out, the floor people came over and started working.

Initially we thought we would be able to stay in our house during their work, but it quickly became apparent that there was no way this would happen. There was dust everywhere. And I mean everywhere. We ended up staying in a hotel for a couple nights (by the way, we LOVE La Quinta, who will take dogs of any size). It was all worth it, and now we have moved back into our house with shiny floors.
